What the fuck is going on !

Only an hour ago I heard that London has again been bombed by 4 bombers on a bus and the tubes. God am I lucky that I didn't go to London today, I was fortunate that I was working from home, but have friends who either were/are in London or had planned to go there today. Thank God they are all safe and fine. This chain of events reminds me so much of the 1970's with the IRA, but now it feels so personal as I have cause to travel to London often whereas in the 70's I was still at school and had no reason to go there. Also I am seriously beginning to understand how it must be to live in Israel, a country I have enjoyed on more than 12 occasions in the last 6 years, and have seen the devastation there first hand as well, but again fortunately, I was never present when anything happened and I must applaud the Israel's for the way they handle these situations as now they have guards on every shopping center and resterant which makes you feel safer, and is more difficult for a bomber to cause serious harm. I read about a year ago in the Jerusalem Post, that the busses would all be fitted with an 'air sniffing' device that could detect particles of explosive if somebody boarded the bus carrying any device. At the time, I found this quite abhorrent that any country should have to go to such extremes to protect the population, but now I am definitely getting into the mindest that perhaps we should have such things on the busses, tubes and airports to protect not only our UK citizens, but also our very precious visitors.
