On Sunday September 17th we both went to support a very special evening of entertainment. We went to the Boston Clipper in Northampton town centre for three reasons.
1. To support a new initiative 'kiss goodbye 2 Homophobia'
2. To remember a gay lad (Michael Fardon) who was murdered outside the pub on July 15th.
3. Have fun.
Well, after 5 hours on my feet in 3" heels, my legs and toes ached like hell, so kudos to the girls who do this regularly. We had a fantastic night with many drag acts and a lot of singers I've never heard of, but then I don't watch X-Factor or any other reality show, which many of these acts came from. I would like to offer my thanks to all those acts who attended and gave their time and effort for free to support this event.
A very touching moment occurred half way through the evening, when Michael's brother and two sisters very bravely took to the stage and requested everybody join in three very special songs to remember Michael. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, and even the fantastic compare Jet~Black was emotionally rocked by this display.
